Every Brittany needs a home, but not every home needs a Brittany! They are very high energy dogs and prospective owners must be willing to commit themselves to getting ample exercise for their Brittanys. Just having a "big yard" is not enough. More Brittanys are surrendered to shelters and rescue organizations because of their activity level than for any other reason. Before you decide on a Brittany, please be sure that you understand the energy level and needs of the breed. Visit the AKC website to learn more about the various breeds, including the Brittany, and find out what breed might be best for you. To learn more about the Brittany, you can also visit brittanybreed.info Remember that Brittany ownership is a 12 to 16 year commitment! (on average)
A few of our members breed occasionally and many are in contact with other breeders in Arizona and surrounding states so we are sometimes able to refer people to breeders in the area. If you are looking for a Brittany puppy, please contact us for a possible referral. PLEASE don't purchase any puppy from a pet store or puppy mill. Here is a link to an article with questions you might ask yourself and any breeder before you decide to buy.
You might also consider helping a homeless Brittany by adopting a rescue dog. You can visit the website of American Brittany Rescue at http://www.americanbrittanyrescue.org to see the Brittanys that are currently available for adoption
